Most people say it's the Fierce Snake, known otherwise as the Taipin. It's Australia's deadliest snake. The deadliest snake in Africa, is the Black Mamba, which is also believed to be possibly, the world's deadliest snake. However, another very deadly snake, is the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. This snake is North America's deadliest viper. Most venomous snakes can kill a human being within the space of 15 minutes. That would be down mainly, to the size of the body. Another factor is the potency of the venom. Back in the 1990's, scientists admitted they were fighting a battle, which they were losing against Rattlesnakes. They said the venom of this particular reptile, is becoming ever more potent each year, & that the anti-venom is becoming harder & harder to produce. Most will say also, a Rattlesnake will only strike if it is provoked or trying to protect itself. That's not completely true. They can strike from left, right or centre. It doesn't matter. They'll strike deliberatlely & without warning sometimes. But as a safety tip, if ever you're bitten by a Rattlesnake, it's likely to be either on the lower leg, or the hand. If bitten in one of these particular areas, be sure to remain as calm as possible. Panicking will force the adrenalin in your body to fasten the pumping of the bloodflow. This in turn, will allow the venom to spread more quickly through your blood stream, speeding up the rate at which it can bring you down. Also, you'd have to be sure that you put pressure on the limb & above the bite mark. For example, if bitten on the hand, it would be plausible to apply pressure above the wrist. A bandana, or even a belt, could be used as a tourniquet. Another tip also, & perhaps the most important, is never, ever try to suck out the saliva. If you did so, you could spit it out, but even the smallest amount could get into you saliva, which would allow it to spread very quickly to your organs, causing rapid failure of your internal organs & a horrible death. But these three tips are known to actually save lives. The attacking strategy of this snake does not mean, however, the snake will attack for the sake of it. Alot of predatory animals, including birds of prey, crocodilians & the like, can be very territorial & will sometimes bite, as a warning or in order to protect their surrounding territories.

Australia is home to some of the world's deadliest snakes. There are seven families of snakes that can be found Down Under, most of which belong to the venomous family Elapidae.
The fierce snake, or taipan, is believed to have the most toxic venom produced by a land snake in the world. Fortunately, they only live in sparsely populated areas of southwest Queensland and Southern Australia. Taipans grow to over two and a half metres long.
There has been an anti-venom available for the taipan's venom since 1950, but before that a bite was almost always fatal.
Overall, there are six species of snakes in Australia that are dangerous to humans. Following the taipan in order of deadliness are: the tiger snake, death adder, the king brown snake, brown snakes and copperhead snakes.
Australia is also home to about 15 species of pythons. The smallest is the half-metre long dwarf python of Western Australia. The longest is the scrub python of Queensland, which grows up to five metres in length.

The most venomous snake in the world is the inland taipan or fierce snake but it is not the most deadly. Australia has all the most venomous snakes in the world but all these account for 0.13 deaths per million people a year. A viper of India and Sri Lanka kills 50 people per million a year and is the world's deadliest snake.

It is difficult to say because there are different factors that make them so deadly.
Yellow Bellied Sea Snakes have the most toxic venom of any snake. ( About 10 times more toxic than a king cobra)
There is no known antivenom for their bite you will die within 1 to 2 minutes after being bitten. Don't even bother calling 911. Call your family quickly and tell them goodbye. That is if you are not paralyzed yet... Fortunatley, they are not aggressive at all and they are almost blind so if you see one, it probably will swim right past you and not even notice you.
I would be most terrified if I was in africa and I saw a black mamba. This is the absolute meanest snake on the planet and if is bites you, your also dead within a few minutes. I would be so scared because not only is it the meanest snake, it is also the fastest snake on the planet. All the books say they only move around 20 mph but recent reports have them clocked at moving at speeds of 45 mph. So, unless you can run faster than cars on the freeway, you'll only give it something very, very, very slow to kill.

There are actually ten most deadliest snakes but heres something you may not of known?
The Most Dangerous Snakes that kill the most people according to the geographical locations are:-
1. The most dangerous are the rattlesnakes like the Eastern and Western Diamondbacks. These rattlesnakes are large, have large venom glands, are relatively common, and are more likely to hold their ground and bite.
2. In Africa common Egyptian Cobras, Saw-scaled Vipers, and Puff Adders would be the most dangerous.
ALSO The country that has the largest number of snakebite deaths annually is the tiny island of Sri Lanka.
Situated in the Indian Ocean has one of the highest specie densities of snakes in the world. Over 90 species from nine families are represented within the diverse habitats found within the borders of Sri Lanka. Many of these species are found nowhere else in the world.
In Sri Lanka the most amount of fatalities are caused by the Indian Cobra. Cobra bites are recorded from the entire island. Russels Viper and Krait bites predominantly occur in the dryzone (the North, North Central, East and North West regions of the island) while Merrem's Hump Nosed Viper bites are concentrated in the South and South West.
The venom of these snakes causes kidney failure.
HERES HOW QUICKLY YOUR BE DEAD IF BITTEN AND NOT TREATED.
1. Echis carinatus (Saw-Scaled Viper)
Venom: Lethally venomous. A bite from this snake would inevitably prove fatal unless antivenin is administered with immediate effect. Its venom destroys red blood cells, the walls of arteries and reduces blood pressure. Death is either caused by internal bleeding or heart failure due to lack of blood and often occurs within 24 hours of being bitten.
2. Bungarus ceylonicus (Sri Lankan Krait)
Venom: Venom highly potent. The venom of this snake attacks the central nervous system and gradually destroys it. Death is caused when the respiratory system is suppressed. Therefore a bite from this snake should be treated with immediate effect or else the victim may die within 12 hours.
3. Bungarus caeruleus (Indian Krait)
Venom: Lethally venomous. The venom of this specie gradually paralyses the nervous system. It also destroys red blood corpuscles. Death is caused by asphyxiation after the respiratory system shuts down. Therefore medical attention should be sought with immediate effect and antivenin administered or else a bite from this snake would prove fatal often within 12 hours.
4. Vipera russelli (Russel's Viper)
Venom: Venom extremely lethal. It destroys the walls of arteries and causes heavy internal haemorrhages. Often bite victims begin to cough blood. Death is caused by heavy blood loss due to internal bleeding. A bite from this snake could prove fatal within 48 hours if not treated with antivenin with immediate effect.

The most DEADLY (not most deadliest, dummy) is the one eyed trouser snake, it's habitat is commonly the interior of jeans, pants etc. and when it comes out (sic) causes intense pain with it's venom...however this pain is not normally felt for 9 months.
