It is a waste of money but you can't really think that way when it comes to buying for children to keep them happy :) In the department store I saw some Easter Eggs which were a ridiculous amount... You are really just paying for the wrapping and the lovely box it is presented in. Commercialism at it's best!

no for one they are on sale, and the dye does not cost that much, and you will use the eggs, in eggs salad sandwiches, potatoes salad, or what ever. As for the choclate eggs, well you really do not have to get that many of them, kids really do not need all that sugar, you can give them a small , very small amount of choclate, and a nice little gift.

My kinfolk constantly colored customary (boiled) eggs and those have been our 'easter eggs'...the youngsters had easter egg hunts and whilst all that became into accomplished, each and every of the eggs that have been greater healthy have been later eaten. there became into no waste. each and every of the easter candy offered (chocolate bunnies, peeps, etc) have been given devoured up besides...i don't bear in mind there ever being "waste" in spite of the reality that each and every of the chocolates weren't good for us. LOL! i assume i don't likely understand your question...what would be a waste? i did not recognize you are able to purchase "easter eggs" inspite of the undeniable fact that this is sensible for pre-adorned ones to be available...are they not suitable for eating like those you will make at abode? Why waste them?

Hey! I sell Easter Eggs. What's the problem? Not enough chocolate? I hear this same complaint every year. "Not enough fluffy stuff! Not enough chocolate! They're getting smaller!"
Hey! I'm doin' the best I can. And the eggs are the same size as they've always been. Can't say the same thing about your a**!

Based on your question, I think of hard boiled eggs that we color - these are not a waste of money because they can be consumed for food purposes. Upon reading your details, I would say that kids are bought so many of them because this is the way it has always been. If your Mom's mom bought them, then your mom is likely to buy them - and it's likely that you will continue the tradition etc.
I don't feel that they are a waste of money IF they provide joy and happiness for the children. I can spend 10 cents or $1000 and not care either way, as long as a child gets some joy out of my actions......................

I think that most humans have forgotten the idea behind the meaning of Easter day . Its The re incarnation of Jesus , It suppose to be a celebration for him . I am not sure why people buy so many chocolates for their children's and perhaps I am guessing that most have forfeited their spirituals values for chocolates .

If you were smart, you'd shop at John Vince Foods. They have a little retail store attached to their factory, just off the Allen, between Sheppard and Finch. Being a candy maker, they sell a whole range of candies, including seasonal ones like Easter eggs, at reasonable prices. If you don't like packaging, even better, because a lot of their stuff is sold bulk. Good luck.

I think they're a pagan tradition, that somehow crept into Christianity and then into secular society. They don't have anything to do with Easter.
