A recently week to the doctors a few weeks back to go on the pill. and so i waited for my first day of my period to start, and when it did it was a few days early, so i started taking the pill... the period was extremely light and then went for a day or two, then came back. and i have been on it for 13 days!?

Why would i have one for this long and is it recommended i go to the doctors?

It can take the body some time to adjust to being on the pill but I would recommend talking to the dr about this to see if something else is going on. Also, certain brands have more potential to cause bleeding issues, Seasonale being one of them (and the company has admitted to this in the past thru their tv ads). But again pls check with your dr about this.

This is normal when you start on birth control or again on birth control. I went through about 8 different birth control that did what is happening to you. Kept me on my period for 2 - 3 weeks. I talk to my doctor and they tried me on a new one after the other and again and again. They now have found a really good one for me which it is called yaz. This can also shorten your period. This product can prevent ovulation and pregnancy. In general, a combination of estrogen and progestin works better than a single-ingredient product. Drospirenone; ethinyl estradiol tablets can also help regulate menstrual flow, treat acne or may be used for other hormone-related problems in females. This may help you. I know it did me! Good luck!

It will be your body adjusting to the pill.
It might take a few months to settle down but if it doesn't go back to the doctors and see about changing to a different pill.
As for the period and pregnancy yes it can be possible but its quite rare.
My mum when she was pregnant with me she had periods but with my brothers she didn't.
hers were 5 days long every month untill she had me

it is probably just you getting used to the pill, you can't have long periods when you are pregnant, do you think you might be? Best thing is to do a test and take a urine sample to you GP
