This is no longer America's war to win or lose. This is a civil war between the Iraqi people. This surge will create 2 scenarios: Many insurgents will lay low until we leave the area; Some insurgents and terrorists will remain and will place their bombs in more strategic areas that will kill more Americans and Iraqis in one blast.

There was no plan beyond taking out Saddam Hussein. Setting a time line makes perfect sense at this point because Iraq will have to fix Iraq. The terrorists would like nothing better than to keep us there in this hopeless fiasco until we go broke.

There is definitely a difference between terrorists and insurgents. The Iraqi's need a vision for their future and the scope of that vision does not include being occupied by Americans. They need to build on their own national pride and desire for a peaceful life.

Don't know about America's defeat...a Democrat government might win back respect for the US in the World. Let's face it the US aren't worth anything just now. People from countries outside HATE the USA, or more specifically Dubya Bush & Repcons like yourself.

Whatever you think it might be, it can't compare to the losing actions the Bush administration has been practicing for the past four years. Our President doesn't need any help in losing this fiasco, he's doing fine with the help he already has.
