Become a pure. Either a range mage pure with something like 50 range and 50 mage and then you can use the iban staff if you are a member and hit 25 then use 2 rune arrows poisoned and hit 40. Or become a strength pure as it is the cheapest.
I am a mage pure and going to get range. Pures are an amazing advantage because they can have a low combat lvl but hit very hard.

Smithing and selling the stuff you make is a good way to make money, also, fishing for good quality fish sell for a lot
