Because Republican war mongers wouldn't support the war any longer if they or there children might have to go fight and die. Eveybody knows that if America wanted to win this war it would have to start a draft and commit 300,000 more troups to get the job done but it will not happen because then the little support left would be gone.

Because a draft will cause massive resistance among the youth and it will be 1968 all over again. Except will crappier music.
The Democratic nominee won't have to campaign, He/she can just phone it in. Even Bush is not that stupid.

If their is a draft Libs will still avoid having to serve. The military still has strict standards against drafting mommas boys, bed wetters, nose pickers and those with gender identity issues. Most libs will be 4F for these reasons.

Reinstating the draft would be political suicide and would be viewed as a strong indicator that the U.S. may have plans to attack other countries.

because there are so many volunteers to go into the armed services as they are proud to serve
unlike under Clinton when so many were taking retirement
