i have downloaded a film but when i go to watch it on media player there is only sound any ideas on what ive or am doing wrong, as there is no picture.

You probably need to download a codec for the movie. Try installing Win Amp as an alternative media player as it comes with an extensive array of codecs already installed here is a link..... Have fun

Try a different media player - some things only work on certain players - Nero is very good - plays most things - but you have to buy it (although you can download a trial version for free)

VCL will play almost everything - and its free.

OR maybe update your Windows media player / download the required codec for the film.

**Edit** oh yeah, real players quite good too. - isn't it annoying though that you need to have 2 or 3 (4?!) different players to watch stuff on - Why cant they all play everything - You'd think microsofts player would be able to do this.. Thats why VCLs good - It really does play everything - but its not very user friendly

try downloading the "media player classic"

Here's an idea. Don't download films and here's another don't put questions like that on here. Are you mad? do you want to be caught?

Try playing it on REAL player, or QUICK time player.....Both available on a free download..................

download VLC player...install it...and use it. Bloody thing even plays partial downloads from E-mule and Bit torrent. Avai yourself please...
