The "Anne of Green Gables" series or the "What Katy Did"series. Can you suggest other books of that type?

Also know any books by Victoria Holt besides "Mistress of Tremellyn"?

Which Daphne du Maurier book do you think is the best?

Please don't suggest Nancy Drew or Enid Blyton. I am not eleven. And I have already read Burnett.

Rebecca I think is the best du Maurier book. It's so spooky.

There's nothing out there quite like Anne of Green Gables. If you attempt to recreate Avonlea in other books, you'll likely be disappointed by cheap knock-offs.

The move towards du Maurier is an interesting choice. Rebecca is easily her best, a nice scary story, indeed. Perhaps further up that vein is someone not many people know about - Wilkie Collins. He wrote mystery suspense novels in the 19th century before there were such things (ah, but maybe that's not being fair to Edgar Allan Poe). Check out The Moonstone and The Woman in White.

Have you read all of L.M. Montgomery's work??? She wrote so many books--other series, stand-alone books, short story collections, etc. You might want to read these. My favorite non-Anne book would probably be between A Tangled Web and Blue Castle. But I have loved almost every single thing she wrote.

If you like historical fiction, you might like Eugenia Price. When I was a teen, I loved L.M. Montgomery, Eugenia Price, Catherine Marshall, and Janette Oke.

i am not sure what you r into exactly but i can tell you what i love to read
I love V.C Andrews, she is mystery/suspense. than there is Danielle steel she writes romance novels. Dan brown he wrote the divinchi code and angels and demons they were both very good books. and when i was younger i liked the RL Stine. fear street books.
i hope this is help full. if not just goggle the word books and you will get a lot of different places you can buy books but you don't have to buy them you can just look at the titles and what they r about and then go to your local library and see if they have them. that is what i do.
