I have been trying to get my eye shadow to look like that for ages, but I end up with black under my eyes, all over my hands and the shadow comes out lopsided. Can someone give me tips on how to get a perfect looking eye like in the pic? Like what brushes n stuff to use. I use Chanel & MAC makeup...Thanks.

I would think this look requires more pencil than shadow. Outline the shape you want with the pencil in smokey grey. Color it in lightly with the pencil. To soften the sharp pencil job lightly dust over it with black eyeshadow using an eyeshadow brush.

one more tip: to keep that look all day without EVER having to touch it up use Mary Kay Triple Action Eye Enhancer as your primer. $15 and worth every penny.

Use your black liquid eyeliner as shadow. Makeup artists do that often to do dramatic eyes. Apply the liner with a small synthetic bristle shadow brush. And keep some q-tips and an oil-free eye makeup remover handy to correct any imperfections.

For best results, use a combination of pencil "khol" and eyeshadow. But first, make sure after you put cream and eye concealer to powder well the eyes area. Then use your eyes pencil and blend with the eyeshadow. Use the usual big brush for the powder (preferably translucent) to clean up any dark eyeshadow that will fall under your eyes, this step should help fixed the problem.

I'm a make-up artist and for liquid eyeliner I use Guerlain Paris - Divinoira. It's one of best liquid eyeliners I've ever used. With that you shouldn't get any problems. But for pencil ones I recommend Chanel but you already use that, right?
