In a Democracy everyone is suppose to be on the same sheet of music. Perhaps we elect a leader and then that person is gone after only 8 years. Then another person comes in Office and starts working their views. Now it seems that we are not only not on the same sheet of music, but various parties are playing their separate songs.
Instead of harmony we are getting variations of noise and squeaks. You know the old saying the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
We have got to come up with some extra grease.

An advantage of democracy is that it gives people the illusion that they have a choice in their government and that their rulers will be constrained somewhat by the will of the people.

Read Plato's Republic.
There are few advantages. The illusion of freedom is one.
Also the illusion of justice. But if one sees the messes it has created, one cannot help but think that there must be a better way.

Because people act silly about their so called liberties. Violent streets -- bullets all thru the night -- hookers on the streets - drugs everywhere. Yuh know.
