There are three conditions applied to explain why death is fearsome.
First, the condition before death is painful in many cases and this causes fear. In case of birth the conditions are well known but the mystery and circumstances surronding death in enshrounded is fathomless.
Second, it is not known how the body will fail and how frail and helpless one would get before death.
Third, it the "Maya"( lure of the material world) which is so powerful that any notion of forsaking of all that amassed during life time, when the soul leaves the body, is very excruciating.

It's the fear of the unknown. What comes after the death of the flesh body?. Or as most people think :is there really anything after death?I think people would act much more responsilbly in their lives if they perceived that there was something more to life than just death.
This life in the flesh is but a short moment (a twinkle of the eye) in the grand scheme of things to come. Where do I draw these conclusions you might ask.My answer to that is: from God's word, The Bible. The Bible contains the answers to all your questions regarding this life in the flesh and the hereafter. Some might say "bunk". I would say to those that they quite simply do not understand or care to learn the truths of God's word. However, the day will come when they will seek the answers to those questions. For most it will probably be in their twilight years when death (or the thought of it) will be there preoccupation.
No one can tell me that if they were faced with a life and death situation today that they would not at least think to ask God for help (not knowing of course whether or not there is a God) but still out of desperation do so.
Do you really think that this big old universe is just a big old coincidence, and that the fact that we're the only ones who share it is yet another coincidence?.Not likely.Do you really think that Earth is a "fluke", and the fact that we are the only inhabitable planet in our solar system another fluke.
Someday we all (even the unbelievers) will understand the purpose of this life in the flesh. Unfortunately for most they will reach that realization only after the death of the flesh. That's when our spiritual body : the spirit being or the intellect of our soul(our self-who we are) steps out of the flesh body and returns to the Father who gave it.

Some people are also afraid of dying as they know deep in their heart that they will face responsibility for everything they did in their earth life. Did they lead a good and meaningful life, and did they develop their spirit or soul? Or did they only hang on material things which will one day rot like our earthly body? Only our soul lives on and everybody who with their whole heart strives after good and noble and love do not need to fear to die.
I am totally convinced about this fact.

People are terrified of the thought that one day they may just cease to exist, which is why so many different cultures throughout history all have a concept of the afterlife. There's a book, Perceptions On Death And Dying, we used it as a text in one of my philsophy classes. You might want to look it up if you're wanting to try and study or understand this topic more, it's just too vast of a subject!

Most people are not afraid of death, they are afraid of dying because it may be painful and people don't know what to expect. The people who are the most afraid of dying are the ones who have a fear of being punished for things they may have done here on earth.

People are afraid of dying because no people likes to die but love to live.Death is a sudden happening and as per people's judgement dying is a great suffering, that nobody is ready to take it.

Birth and deaths are certain in this in this universe. Great saint Shankaracharya has said birth and death is a cyclic process and this is the essence of life. After birth till death man gets attached to so many things. He enjoys so many luxuries which is short lived. When he is about to die it becomes difficlt for him to get out of the bondage and suffers. One who has practised to wriggle out of these attachments during old age will not fear death.

I find it doesn't matter if you have fear or not it will happen anyways. But once it does at that moment in death you have the choice to still fear or go beyond to whatever is out there after death. I think one should try to be brave in life so when death comes nothing can be feared.

this is one of my best question, actually I asked this one before.
the idea behind dying is a big mystery, we are afraid of the after live because it is the human nature to afraid from the unknown. also, we don't know we only hope that we die without any pain at all.

keeping many works pending and postponing makes a person afraid towards death
if ur keeping ur work up to date and work for the future also
there is no real need of fear of death
and i heard from my cousine that
when we receive the pin of bank card
we are supposed to remember and use it and destroy the
pin hard copy
god also gave us the date of death like pin no
at birth time only
but we forget it in the process
to make life more happy
instead of living for the death day to come and counting
