If you want a real conspiracy theory, try asking yourself why any evidence like this, against the Human CO2 Global Warming THEORY, is given no newspaper or TV debate time at all? In fact just last night all we heard about were some more EU regulation to be introduced to make us change our lightbulbs... am i the only one who realises that all they are trying to do is stretch out the time that we still have fossil fuels for. Making sure oil and gas companies stay in business until they suddenly 'decide' solar, wave and wind power are real viable alternatives...?? And for those who say it's actually the oil and gas companies trying to deny Human Global Warming, it is actually to their benefit to slow down fossil fuel consumption to stay in business as long as possible, plus, they will profit from the 'fuel switchover' as they are invested in that technology also.

Because THEY are part of the anti-capitalist conspiracy that helped create and foster it. This is particularly true of the TV media. THE CHANNEL FOUR PROGRAMME WAS A RARE EXCEPTION. The BBC jumps to mind. The Daily Mail (the paper vilified by the left), has printed articles in the past, which cast great doubt on the Global warming theory. But, of course, 'lefties' are not interested in the truth.

This programme was made by Martin Durkin. He says himself on the website Prison Planet that he wanted to call it 'Apocalypse my ****.' 'but in the end we decided on 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' It's a provacative title, which helps with ratings.' This is the same Mr Durkin that in 1997 made a series called 'Against Nature'. The programme targeted environmentalists, presenting them as 'the new enemy of Science', and comparable to the Nazi's. They were responsible, the programme argued, for the devprivation and deaths of millions in the Third World. Just as in this programme envioronmentalists are responsible for condemning Africans to a life of poverty and squalor by restraining them from developing unsustainable technologies. So far, so same old. However, it should be noted that on that occasion Channel 4 had to broadcast a prime-time apology and the Independant Television Commission ruled: 'Comparison of the unedited and edited transcripts confirmed that the editing of the interviews with (the envirionmentalists who contributed) had indeed distorted or misrepresented their known views. It was also found that the production company had misled them........as to the format, subject matter and purpose of these programmes.' (see Channel 4 savaged by Television watchdog.) Mr. Durkin then went on to make a programme about GM in which proponants like CS Prakash played a starring role. (see Getting your Science from charlatans).
Although I would never advocate the suppression of free speech, I would question the agenda of those who made the programme. I would also question the credentials of those who contributed to the 'sceintific' parts of the narrative. Perhaps it's not being debated because the programme makers lack credibility.

I too was baffled as to why the history of global warming seems to be almost ignored. I found the programme riveting but also very surprised that no one seems to wants to discuss it as it has been the topic of conversation at home and amongst Friends. It only confirms the very feeling of helplessness one feels when you know all along "The Big Boys" media and government are all in each others pockets.I think to "quote" were you to write a thesis on how there have been changes in the way squirrels collect their nuts and add. Oh! by the way it is in the interest of global warming....... Need I say more? Thank you for your interesting contribution.

I saw the programme and was very impressed, so much so that I asked a question on Answers (see "Is Global Warning really happening)".

I don't usually have much to applaud on Channel 4 but they were right on the money with The Great Global Warming Swindle.

I too thought the programme raised some unquestionable facts but I feel the programme makers were a little irresponsible. In many ways it raised more questions than answers, what are we supposed to think now? It would be easy to slate the government etc and book your long haul flight tommorrow guilt free. I thought the programme was great, reasoned and not sensational like most of the stuff in the media. Lots of people must have a vested interest in selling us Global Warming or are they just stupid? It's the new religion for we masses.

The programme was very good, full marks to the makers, but it just isn't PC to argue with the "facts" that the governments are giving out, I wonder why? Time after time things that are not proven are quoted on Answers as Gospel, they are doing a great job of "brainwashing" the gullible population, in times gone buy it was called propaganda!

They've spent so long hyping up global warming that they can't suddenly change their minds, so they ignore it and hope most people didn't see the programme and realise that they (media) have been duped by tax hungry governments.
