If you're a beginner I'd suggest zebra danios (keep 4-5 of them) or a betta (keep only one alone)

well it depends what sort of fish you are looking for. There is coldwater fish , Marine fish , and tropical fish. The easiest of these is the coldwater fish as they dont need much special treatment. I have lots of tropical fish and i find that out of the tropical fish the Guppy is the easiest to keep and breed if you are looking to breed

If you're looking for low maintainance, you can't go wrong with a betta. Feed daily and clean water every week or two and they thrive.
