Go to hot topic and get one of those studded black bracelets with the pyramid studs. Its about the perfect size.
You can also use a leather belt as long as its small enough and you buckle it ball-side, not front-side. A soft shoe string works as well but is harder to remove.
Be careful with them though because if you aren't, you can permanently damage yourself.

Nothing to rigid for starters. The best simple method is to go to home depot and go to the washer section (not for clothes) They are like giant o-rings for paintball. Find a size that works and get a few sizes up and down for trials. They are cheap so it's not that big of a deal. Take them home and try them out. You want something that is slightly smaller than your diameter when hard. That way the blood capacity will increase when you are hard and it will do it's job. Too small and you run the risk of not getting up at all or hurting yourself, too large and it doesn't do anything. Just remember to not leave it on too long. If your dick changes color, starts to hurt, go numb or get cold, take it off and let some blood flow back in. With good common sense they can be a lot fun, but remember not to hurt yourself. Oh, and a rubber band will work in a pinch, just be careful
