I know you asked for girls only but blokes shave too and I'm told some even shave down there !! Anyway, men have the same problem on their face as you girls have down there. So warm the area thoroughly first. Lay on the bed and lay a warm flannel over yourself for a few minutes, soak it in hot water and repeat a few times. Once the area is nicely warm get yourself a top quality shaving OIL, king of shaves do some great stuff. and a good razor, away you go, try to shave in the direction of growth, NOT against the growth. (If you want double fun get your bloke to do all this). OK, you should now have a very close and very smooth shave. there's different opinions on talc or oil but avoid perfumed ones whichever you choose. Don't wear any panties for a day or two. If you do get any ingrowing hairs (this happens) just flick them out with a pin but leave a couple of days before shaving again. As your body gets used to being shaved it will react against it less and less. good luck and stick with it because it looks so much better shaved.

This is probly down to how you shaved it. Don't worry, it will go ;) Take a quick cool shower, and apply a mens after shave balm or after sun lotion on it, as these are designed to be sensitive and have a cooling affect. Do that, and it will disapear soon...
Also, do this everytime you shave and you won't get a rash again... Use a fresh blade every time, so why not buy a pack of disposable ones for when you shave down there. Don't use shaving foams. Even the ones designed for sensitive skin are quite harsh and are perfumed, which can really irriate the skin while the pores are open... so use a shower gel from a gentle range which is made for sensitive skin, such as Simple. And like I said in answer to your problem, use after shave balm or after sun on it afterwards...
Hope this helps

The advice from the guy, to warm up the skin first, is excellent, also I agree with him that King of Shaves stuff is very good. I shave every other day, use KofS oil or gel and then a short time after shaving use an unscented balm or cream. Going commando also helps.

Its shaving rash... I get it too when I shave, Wax I do now and I don't get it. With shaving it also leads to ingrown hairs which then leaves to scaring. So try waxing like your bikini line don't use creams because it only irritates it. If your not happy with the results here go seek advice from a beautician. Hope this helps.

Sounds like shaving bumps caused by bacteria that get trapped around the hair folicle when you shave. Try cleansing the area BEFORE shaving with some witch hazel (or other astringent) on a cotton ball. Be sure to clean your razor as well before shaving. Also, try going commando to prevent especially bad bumps where your dainties are tight against your skin.

The more you shave, the more the rash will go away. I use my man's saving gel (he doesn't know!) It's Clinique, Aloe Vera gel and is great for shaving legs and other bits!. No rash - about £10 for a big bottle. I would not recommend waxing as you will end up with blocked hair folicals and nasty spots from ingrowing hairs. Stay away from heavily perfumed things as this could aggravate any rash you have.

Use cheap hair conditioner when u shave, it softens the hair and skin and reduces irritation.
Apply talc once you are fully dry and apply talc daily for a couple of days.
Works for me everytime.
the conditioner bit is excellent for legs too. Much cheaper than shaving foam and even better in my opinion.
