The US government hates Cuba more than other communist countries because it's on its doorstep.
It seems to want it to become a Mafia playground for the rich again, like it was before Castro.

The reason why it does not make sense is that is was a brainchild of LBJ in 1966 and then revised by Clinton. That alone should explain why it does not make sense and how it is so unfair to the other immigrants. Too bad we don't have a decent president in office right now who could do something about this strange law.

I agree with you and totally disagree with Brother. Cubans wouldn't be risking their lives if they stayed in Cuba. Just because Cuba is within 60 miles of Florida, doesn't give the Cubans a "Visa" if they make it here.

it's only biased to some but not to all. like taxes - only unfair if you pay it. to the rich (who pay little or nothing), taxation seems reasonable. being a native american, more ways than one, the wet foot/dry foot seems reasonable to me. in fact, all those who arrive in the usa other than through their mothers & fathers are trespassing. but then, that's me.

who else are you talking about?? those cubans risk their lives to get over here. if they make it, they should be allowed to apply to live here. red rover red rover send raul over. if he makes it over (he'll probably get lost at sea or caught) good for him, he wins.
besides cuba, what other communist country are we having issues with people coming over in hoardes? china? lao? vietnam? korea?
FYI...
it's if you get caught wet footed (at sea) you get sent back
but if you touch the US shore (dry foot) you get to stay for a year and try to become a resident

The republicans don't want to eliminate it since cubans infiltrated in political positions with the GOP, kind of like infested with communism. Infiltration to take control in both parties, america followed by dictatorship.
