I saw this film with a group. It's a dangerous film. Stick with the bible, and don't waste time with "The Secret". It's a poisonous teaching, especially the way they present it.

After the film, our thoughts on it were made. I said it was New Age relgious film and should nevert be promoted. It assigns credit to some undefined impersonal infinite "force", probably no different than the Star Wars concept. And it can severly distort a person's thinking. For example: One young lady (early to mid twenties) gave her thoughts on the film. She said [paraphrased], "I thought it was neat that when I was watching the film that I felt hot [temperature], and then I realized I was being negative in my thinking. So, I changed to positive thinking it was cool. And at about that time [so and so] came in the room and opened the door trying to cool the room off." -- I felt saddened for her, and I was angry at this film even more for that! And I hope she doesn't think her thoughts really altered space & time to bring that event. It's just common sense that the room was hot and someone was just smart enough to use the door to cool it off. And why weren't my negative thoughts overriding her positive one's? And why did the people promoting the film (assumedly more positive thinkers) attract my negative criticism? It's a very powerful and subtle deception being promoted.

If you ever recieve anything good, it's from God - plain and simple - nothing as impersonal as "the force" or "vibtrating energy fields" - like pantheism. And don't fixate on the material world like this movie promotes. That movie was insanely materialistic.. It was all about **I want this, I want that, me, me, me...** one guy in the film even said he thinks of the universe as a giant "catalogue" where he goes I want this thing and I want that experience.. etc....
Oh my!!! Craziness.

This is exactly the kind of tool that the devil will use to try to bind various faiths around the world into agreement. Forming a one world / global religious faith system (ie. no matter if you are Islam, Atheist, Mormon or Buddhist..etc.. you will agree on the "force" or that everyone all believes in the same god). This will parallel with the one world governmental system that is already unfolding before your eyes. And along with a one world currency [digital money].

Avoid that movie! It's dangerous to your walk with God. Just focus on what the bible says.. and think upon things the bible says to think about. How God works from there doesn't matter.

It's complete b.s. - at least if taken in it's entirety. Having a positive attitude can't hurt. But taping pictures up on the wall, and thinking about what you want isn't going to get you what you want. The video attempts to use science in a way to gain legitimacy, but in the end it's pseudoscience.

Indeed it is against Christianity, but it is also against logic and science. From a Christian point-of-view, anything that distracts from recognizing the Creator's will and replacing it with our own narcissistic world-view is dangerous. Most of what I've seen with "the secret" is overly concerned with material wealth and physical attraction.

Think Professor Harold Hill's "Think System".

The laws of attraction have been around for a very long time and have been used by many belief systems for thousands of years. Do they work? Absolutely.

As for it being against christianity.. I disagree. It's about being thankful and grateful for what you do have and being joyful.. in that way you attract the same things into your life.
The bible says "the joy of the Lord is my strength." How can being joyful and grateful be against christianity then?

The truth of this "secret" book/video is that someone repackaged a very old universal law, called it a "secret" for marketing purposes and is making a ton of money off of it.
Now, with Oprah's endorsement, this person is going to be a multi-millionaire.

You don't need a book or a video to learn about the laws of attraction.. you can look it up on the net and get the same information.. you can run a search of the bible on the word joy and apply that to your life.

I hope this helps.

Isn't it amazing how cynical some people can be? I don't know either, my sister is supposed to lend me the video so I can "check it out", but from what she described... it's like a "Karma" thing, only better. (And to the "gentlemen" who answered before me, you fellas just might be exactly what the "Secret" is. Although, you guys would be like, the "Anti-Secret". Ain't Karma a B**ch?)
I'm not sure how religious you are, and I really don't want to offend you, so I will be very careful how I say this... If you're looking for REAL answers and true meaning in life, the world, the universe, the "heavens"... all that is and ever was. You won't find the "answer" in Christianity. It restricts the very process of seeking understanding, Truth and knowledge. Personally, I have always felt a force or, "presence" and it is what inspires me to continue to develop my perspectives on everything within all life's wonders. Maybe that's part of the Secret. I guess we'll both have to wait and see. Just don't let people "beat ya up" about wanting to learn and understand something that (for all anybody really knows) just might BE the key to everything that we've ever wondered about or searched for.
Good luck in your journey.

if u're an atheis maybe it's all what to do.
But in god's religion, we've been told that god is the creater, controler, and destroyer. We're just a pion in his game.

But since everybody have their own thought, it's individual thing.

It probably isn't worth it.

There are 2 kinds of attraction. Love & lust.
Both of them will fill you with a burning.

But many times, "secrets" are based on lust instead of love.

Sure, they work, but only for a short time. Go for love.
