I tend to like action movies better than family based ones. However I loved The Secret Garden.

Action based all the way. I rarely get into family films. It may be due to being a single guy. LOL

Action for sure . Family movies freaks me out. Once i watched a movie. It striked me much the theme was " those who confess their lie's will get help or sth like that " and i confessed some of my lie's to my best friend . it had been 2 years after she dumped me.
so family movie is -----

neither, usually.
I find that action movies , though there are of course exceptions, often are full of fan-service and nothing but fight scenes and thats not really my cup of tea, I like a good story to go with it.
on the other hand, family oriented movies tend to be too censored and make me somewhat sick in how much they've been cleaned up and dumbed down, again their are the exceptions (like someone mentioned secret garden)
but neither genre is really for me

I like the old action movies from the 80's - movies like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard, movies you can quote! Examples - "Yippee kayay motherf*cker!", "Welcome to the party, pal!" and "I'm too old for this sh!t!". Don't forget anything with Arnie in it, like 'Commando' - "Let off some steam, Bennett!" The closest Hollywood has come to these kinds of classics nowadays is Bad Boys. Basically, I love a movie with explosions and car chases and people getting beaten up and shot at!
