Oh, I live next to the second biggest city park in North America, I see them every night!! Your question warmed my heart. They are notorious, and yes, I do get a little scared when they move toward me, but they always make me laugh, I swear, I laugh out loud even if I am alone. Party because I get scared and partly because they look like a cartoon (I guess it's the cartoons that look like the real raccoons). They are the joy of my life actually.

I would say "Hey you, Raccoon. Stop going through my trash and step away from me." And if he/she replied "What if I don't?"
Then I would run because a raccoon is talking to me and either it is the work of evil or I am way too high.

Well if a raccoon was threatening me, I would probably run back inside the house and shut all doors & windows until it ran away somewhere else.

i would freak out and get away from the trash bin...all the while confusing it for a possible skunk...a smelly skunk...because i haven't really seen a raccoon out here but skunks i have couple times

I'd try to grab something to swing at it to scare it off, if that didn't work, I'd run inside to call animal control.
