no your not stupid, it was not really a girl kind of movie (no offense)
it is based on a graphic novel which is based on an ancient battle.
the movie does not explain every thing that happened, like the fact 7000 Greeks actually held the pass for 3 days, but the Spartans were in command. in the final battle 700 thespians stood with the Spartans and were also slaughtered to a man.
it was not a really representative of historical fact.
Personally I love Historical drama and war films and went in to this film knowing it was going to be a gore fest.
Honestly... I LOVED this movie!
just because you didn't like it does not make you stupid. it was just not your kind of film.

Of course you're not stupid!
This movie doesn't explain what really happened in Thermopyles (that's the greek name). It's a Hollywood movie based on a graphic novel. Ephialtis wasn't a mummy!
I want you to know that the war with Persians and what happened in Thermopyles are facts but this movie presents the story in a more mythological way. All warriors have six-pack abs, they do not fear anyone or anything... OK, Spartians were tough, but they did have feelings!
Anyway... As the movie is made, it is addressed to guys, and not to girls.... So, go see "Music and Lyrics", or, far better, "Pan's Labyrinth" (that's one of the best movies I've ever seen)!...

The story was pretty straightforward. King Leonidas leads 300 Spartan soldiers into battle against a countless army of Persian soldiers. Their plan was to funnel the Persians into a narrow valley where they would only have to face a limited number at a time. This story is based on actual history.
I won't say I loved the movie, but I liked it. Although it's a good story and a well made movie, I was kind of turned off by the style. Still, I would recommend it to anyone who likes action movies.

In the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian army in the mountain pass of Thermopylae. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the enemy in one of the most famous last stands of history. Persian King Xerxes lead a Army of well over 100,000 (Persian king Xerxes before war has about 170,000 army) men to Greece and was confronted by 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and other Slave soldiers. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender or withdraw left with no options he moved. The battle lasted for about 3 days and after which all 300 Spartans were killed. The Spartan defeat was not the one expected as a local shepherd named Ephialtes defected to the Persians and informed Xerxes of a separate path through Thermopylae, which the Persians could use to outflank the Greeks.

actual, Ted's reaction replaced into no longer properly suited. The action picture 3 hundred replaced into actual a real tale. in the previous Alexander the excellent, the King of Sparta Leonidis and 3 hundred of his desirable warriors fought the Persian king Xerxes's invasion in 480 BC. this is talked approximately the conflict of Thermopylae. as far by way of fact the action picture is in touch, i thought they could of given it somewhat greater communication, and not merely a tale action picture. P.S. in case you opt for for to evaluate greater correct to the Spartans, examine the history books. each little thing correct to the action picture, (which includes that actuality that the spartans discarded the infants that have been week, that actuality that at 7 boys did pass to a battling college, and so on. ) The action picture replaced into actual very precise.

No, you're not. I'm sure alot of other people didn't get it too.
Long ago, there was this Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC a group of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian army in some mountain pass of Thermopylae. The leader was asked to bow before the person king if he wanted him and his men to live. He didn't.
They were outnumbered 100-1 but the Greeks kept on fighting till the last man. They didn't win but their courage inspired the rest of the greeks to stand up and fight.
