Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it’s good for you!! I was shocked at the effectiveness in putting me to sleep. If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. You must take the sublingual kind from GNC otherwise it might not work because of quality and potency, should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening.
God Bless
P.S. after you try it and it works don’t forget to tell others about it. You could be saving someone else’s Sanity

As others have pointed out, Melatonin can be effective and is worth a try. Another natural remedy that has helped me with sleep is Valerian. I have found that the better quality of this herb is worth the cost.

You don't mention why your doctor is refusing to prescribe a sleep med. You can't make him give you a precription, but you do have the right to seek a second opinion if your sleeping problems persist. A doctor should determine which medication is right for you. A sleep study could also be very helpful to determine the cause of your insomnia.

A good sleeping pill is Ambien. You do need a rx for it. There is ambien and ambien cr. the regular ambien puts you to sleep and the cr put you to sleep and keeps you sleep. You would want to ask for the regular ambien if you need help just getting to sleep and ask for the cr if you need help getting to sleep and staying sleep if you are one of those people who get up quite often during the night. A lot of insurances barely cover them and they are controlled and can become addictive and that is why dr's stray from giving this particular one out. Maybe see a different dr and explain really in detail how sleep is causing disruption in your life. Other non controlled sleep aids are Lunesta and Sonata these are not controlled so you dont tend to keep needing them in the future, or have a great dependency on those nights you actually can get some sleep on your own. Ask the doctor why he refuses and make sure you dont have any health problems that would prevent you from taking these type of meds.

Melatonin is a good sleeping aid pills. It can be purchased in GNC or Vitamin World for a low price.

Melatonin is the all-natural nightcap. It's secreted by the pineal gland, a pea-size structure at the center of the brain, as our eyes register the fall of darkness.

"At night melatonin is produced to help our bodies regulate our sleep-wake cycles. The amount of it produced by our body seems to lessen as we get older. Scientists believe this may be why young people have less problem sleeping than older people.

"Studies suggest that... supplements can hasten sleep and ease jet lag, without the hazards or side effects of prescription sleeping pills."

It may have many other uses and has been reported to make people feel better, strengthen the immune system, and reduce free radicals in the body. Current research is underway to determine it's effect as an anti-oxidant, immno-modulator in cancer, delayed sleep-phase disorders, and jet lag. Tests are still under way so there is much to still be learned about it and its effects on the human body. Travelers and people suffering from mild sleep disorders.

Sleeping disturbance may occur for many physical and mental factors that may be external and/ or internal. If your doctor is not prescribing you any sleeping pill, there must be some reasons that if you take sleeping pill, that might be harmful for you by anyway.

The best things you may do under this situation is to go to another doctor or to make your lifestyle in such a pattern that you don't feel much bad of not or less sleeping.

But I strongly discourage you to take any sleeping pill without any doctor's prescription.
