Once a day I would feed a good quality pellet and once a day or every other I would feed bloodworms or other type of food besides pellet, then once a week I would fast him and not feed him anything to clean out his system.

I feed mine 6 to 8 little pellets every other day. They have survived for years. I think more than once a day is too much. They are easily overfed because they are so small. You may feed them like 4 pellets every day if you want to. Make sure you change their water weekly.

I have had a couple for several years(in separate tanks) and I feed a very small amount daily. I've also recently learned that if their colors fade, add aquarium salt.

betta fish eat quite less when compared to others.hence, twice a day would be more than enough.if the color fades add the crystallized salt .

You can feed him once a day, very little food... like the size of his eye ball.
Aren't they supercute?
