Follow the first answerer's instructions for IE. For Firefox:
Tools
Options
Click the 'Privacy' tab
Cache tab
Click 'Clear cache now'
If you have CCleaner, go to 'Applications' and in Mozilla Firefox, check the 'Cache' box. Then clean.
Use the link below to get CCleaner if you're interested. It cleans out your PC in a matter of seconds unlike other Registry Programs that take forever. It fixes Registry problems, cleans unwanted stuff and has an uninstal program like Add/Remove programs, only that it opens in a millisecond.

search for "cahce" and delete the file. it auto-rewrites, so no worrys there, if you mess up. There should also be a cache deleter on your control panel, or system preferences(if you are running machintosh) Also delete cookies the same way.... that stores all your internet preferences, and website usage.

What you can do is open a command prompt, (run > cmd > enter) then type ipconfig /flushdns , but i'm not sure why you want to empty the cache memory though
