It rotates at about 1036 miles per hour at the equator. That's pretty fast.

It's all due to the random creation of the solar system in it's early days. There seems to be no fixed rule to how planets evolved, their size and rotation speeds. Venus, for instance, rotates about once every 243 earth days. In fact, Venus's day is longer than it's year. Jupiter which is considerably bigger than earth, rotates once every 10 hours. Uranus rotates 'on it's back'. The Sun which dwarfs all planets takes around 27 earth days to rotate.

It just so happens that Earth rotates at 1000mph. It once may have rotated faster or slower. The current theory of a Mars sized planet hitting the earth to form the moon may have slowed it down or speeded it up. We'll probably never really know why it rotates at the speed it does.

The current theory is that early on, baby Earth was hit by a Mars-sized planetesimal. This collision formed a debris ring which coalesced to form the Moon and set the Earths rotation rate. This rate was faster way back when. As the Moon has moved away, the Earth's rotation has slowed to what it is today.

Well I don't know about you but I think 1040 mph (1670 km/hr or 0.5 km/sec) is pretty fast.
The thing is that the Earth IS 24.900 miles (~40.070Km) around.

And with an object that big plus the gravitational force we don't feel it turning. The force is so strong that just to excape it you ~24.800 mph.

Actually, the Earth rotates very fast but we don't feel it because we are on Earth and it is too big. Try this: If you are inside a very fast moving vehicle, you do not feel its speed but if you look outside the vehicle, you'll know it's very fast. The same goes with the Earth. We can't feel its rotation because we're on it and we can't see the outerspace through our naked eyes.

for us on earth we feel the earth move slow but it really moves fast. but other planets are faster than the earth like Jupiter because they are gaseous planets, while the earth is made of rocks and soil like the planets mercury,Venus and mars.As we know gas moves fast.

because people are getting heavier and heavier, and its all in western countries which are clustered together, this is having a anchoring affect. also all the imports form other counties are making it heavier.
