According to my doctor the baby stopped growing at 37 weeks. At my 40 week appointment he tellings me that I'm going to be induced this up coming Monday. I wish my doctor would have given me more information on this situation but I was pratically rushed out of the office. >.< What could be the reason for the baby to stop growing?

The baby is still very active and the heart rate is also just fine.

I'm kind of small, about 5 foot, but the baby is only about 5.5 to 6lb.

too bad you didn't insist on staying. You have the right to know this information!

Babies don't really stop growing. Yours probably slowed down in growth because it's nearly ready to come out and your tummy is maxed out.

I dont want to give you an exact answer because im not a nurse but i wouldnt worry too much the doctors defintly know what they are talking about and since the heartbeat is okay... i think maybe that the baby is just ready to come out to the world and its as developed as its going to be but sorry i cant help you more just giving you my opinion, best of luck and early congrats on your child!

my second baby actually stopped growing and even lost about 2 lbs before he came out. After a certain point your body stops giving the baby nutrientsat which point they induce or take the baby. Thank god he did though, he was a 9lb 4oz healthy baby at birth. Good luck

at first -2 to +2 cm is generic. Why do you even decide to agonize your self with the what ifs? If the infant stopped turning out to be, the two it may be becauseit is going to be a dwarf, you have had a miscariage, or something like that. stop stressful while issues are generic, that is going to in user-friendly terms make issues worse.

i recently had the same thing happen to me, my baby stopped growing because my placenta started to deteriorate (this is common AFTER 40 weeks which is why doctors usually induce at 42) it happened to me at 36 though....my son was over 8 lbs at 36 weeks.....at 39 when he was born he was 7 lb 9 oz

It probably has just grown to its full potential or the doctor or yourself must of got the EDD date wrong can you still feel the baby active? Ring the doctor first thing in the morning and speak with him and tell him your concerns

There are lots of reasons, but most likely, there is no more room and the baby is ready to come out.

i really wouldnt complain about having a small baby. its healthy so dont worry, it will start growing outside the womb as it has more room to grow. good luck

take more responsibility in your health care. ASK your doctor for the information and don't leave till your questions are answered.
