There are quite a few out there. Here's a few I can think of right off:
Holes
Narnia
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (still in the works)
Nanny McPhee (books were called Nurse Matilda)
Bourne Identity
Inkheart (still in the works)
Series of Unfortunate Events
Interview with a Vampire
Queen of the Damned
Mists of Avalon (this may have been a made for TV movie)

Fight Club
Devil wears Prada
Memoirs of a Geisha
All those Minority report, I robot and other scifi books
AWhat was that movie about Gay cowboys? I forget its name! DAmn, but you got it, right? and that movie, Crash as well. (No not the 2004 movie, but the 1996 movie, abt ppl who derive sexual satisfaction from car accidents. (Whatthe heck?))
Sisterhood of travelling pants?
Pride and prejudice ( Keira Knightly was awesome, although the Darcy guy was not so imposing as I had imagined)
Of course, You are talking abt books, not comics, or you would have everything from Spidey to Fantastic four.
PEter PAn? Cat in the Hat? Charlie and the chocolate Factory?
I somehow feel that those books are always better then the movies, I never seem to like the way director imagins it, Eg, When I think of a large extremely poisonous snake, I imagine a cobra like snake , it is something programmed in my psychi, but in chamber of secrets, the basilisk had no hood, it waslike a large grass snake. Disappointing, isn't it?
MODIFY : That movie abt gay cowboys is Brokeback Mountain, by Annie Prolux

lots of. consequently, i don't in all probability have a precise 5 - or something remotely drawing near it. although, if asked to p.c.. out 5 movies that i'm prepared on and study to be exemplary examples of high quality action picture making, i could pick, for occasion: a million. The Godfather, section II - A sequel that equals its magnificent predecessor. 2. decrease back to the destiny - Absolute classic. 3. Jurassic Park - See above. 4. Toy tale 2 - Funnier than the 1st and not as unhappy because of the fact the 0.33. Toy tale 3 must be the extra suitable action picture (arguable), yet this 2d instalment is in all probability my commonly used. 5. The dark Knight - Love all of Burton's and Nolan's Batman movies. This one stands out as a sequel that transcends the unique, although.

A long list can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fiction_works_made_into_feature_films
It gives the name of the book and then the name of the movie and when the movie was made.
