I need to find out if I ruined my motherboard for good.

first of all, just dump it into into the sink and put warm water on it. If it doesnt work after that then its broken!!

Is it still bootable? with Good CPU and Good RAM, can you get display on screen? If yes, then connect hard disk etc and install windows, if ok, then good.
If you can not get any display, you need a second good board to confirm the CPU and RAM are good.
Also make sure you get good cooling, both Power Supply Fan and CPU fan should be running.

you cant really. you need to have good cooling and if there is a wierd smell. also if it shuts down from over haeating
