A law that stated that the prison inmates on death row should only be put to death with family and loved ones at thier side?
Let me explain a little farther. I do not think it is right to feed revenge back in to a society by letting victoms family be present at executions. I think it should be enough that the person is dead, and they should not have to witness the execution personally. I believe this just feeds vengence in to the society as a whole.

Therefore: I think either the criminal should be put to death with only his family there to view it or by himself, alone.

No. There is such a thing as closure. The victims families have suffered a loss that is unimaginable, and if it helps their family in any way to be there and witness justice for themselves, then I am all for it. In my opinion, revenge would be allowing the family members of the murdered victim to dole out the "punishment".Depending on the crime, I would be all for that, ESPECIALLY if the victim was an innocent, defensless child. As far allowing the murderer to have his family members present when he is put to death? The families of the victim were not there when their loved one was brutally murdered. Why is it that people are so concerned with the rights of criminals over the rights of victims?

Complicated question...I suppose it should be the choice of the prisoner whether or not to have his family and loved ones present...pretty personal call.....
