You will need to reinstall your audio driver again.
Should be included on a CD that came with your pc for motherboard drivers etc ( especially if onoboard sound which I suspect).
If you can't find it , then shut your pc down , unplug it and write down any numbers off the audio card or mainboard ( if onboard ). Use this to search the net for drivers but make sure you get the correct release for your O/S.

Try this
Go to Control Panel
Click on System
Click on Hardware
Click on Device Manager
Click on the + by Sound, video, game Contollers
*IF* you see any Yellow & Black ! point or Red X REMOVEE them
Shutdown your computer, NOT RESTART
Wait at least minutes then restart computer
Windows SHOULD find and REinstall the drivers
Note: Even IF you don't see the above mentioned ! or X, just remove the sound card drivers anyway, then do the Shutdown procedure
Also, if you deleted the files, they should be in oyur Recycle Bin, Go into it and restore them

Howzit!!
First you did no harm to your CPU. The problem is with the sound card. Simple get hold of the mother board drivers disc and install the program again.
If you cannot get hold of the disc you can download the drivers at:
http://www.opendrivers.com
http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/index.html
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD
(You can also download them at the manufacturer of you PC if you didn't built in yourself. Also from the motherboard manufactures).
Its no big problem okay...
