Only for a year or two but will still be no championship for those years. They need some role players and a good point guard. Kobe and Vince will be fighting for the ball. Even Kobe will want the ball from Kidd. And who are they going to give up for the two players?

Nope, I don't think they'll make a move on either Kidd or Carter. First, Kidd is a pure point guard. The triangle offense of Phil Jackson doesn't necessarily require a point guard like Kidd. Carter won't be traded for since he'll be at the same position as Kobe.
However, I'd like to see the Lakers make a move on Kevin Garnett. Seeing as how Garnett would likely opt out of the Timberwolves next season, it would be great for the Lakers to have him. The Lakers REALLY need a dominant big man in the post and Garnett fits that description.

not really. because in order for the lakers to be a better team, they have to fit into the system. the triangle doesnt need a guard like kidd, they need a good-passing center. and i doubt vince carter really deserves a championship.

They may try to get Kidd
word is they almost had him in the regular season.
Why would they even need VC? I mean Carter is a GREAT player, and one of the most fun to watch, but Kobe is better and can contribute a lot more. Those FOUR egos on one team would clash (See Bryant, O'Neal, Jackson 2005) and it would not live up to the hype.
