odd fish question?

Question

if i take out my fish and drop it in a shot glass of whiskey then take it right back out again and put it back in the tank, would the fish die instantly or get drunk or freak out or not care?

This is how you euthanize fish humainly.

If the fish even takes one breath while in the whiskey, he will go numb causing breathing and organs to shut down and yes he will die quite quickly.

The fish probably would not die from the exposure to the Whiskey - but you never know what that kind of a thing might do to its system in terms of shock - it could die from shock, but it's unlikely. It would probably feel mildly drunk for a couple minutes - it would be like if someone shut you in a closet with nitris oxide instead of oxygen for a couple seconds. You wouldn't die, and you wouldn't get totally high, but it would be shocking and you would probably feel a little high for a minute.

it will fry his gills. you could try it on yourself to see. just use a couple of bottles of cheap whiskey poured in a vat/bowl, and have a strong friend hold your head under until you try to take a breath. good luck!
