If you got married by Hindu rites & ceremonies then you can get your marriage registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. For this registration you require a certificate issued by the priest who preformed your marriage, one or two photographs taken of solemnization of the marriage, proof of residence of the place you live & want to get this marriage registered, proof of age of both the parties (Boy should be at least 21years & Girl 18 years at the time of marriage), & affidavit of both the parties, you also require affidavit/witness of two person who were present during this marriage ceremony. All these are the requirements when you file application for registration before the marriage registrar appointed under this Act, who is usually the SDM of the area where you reside. A nominal registration fee has to be paid along with the application & all these documents. For more information write to me directly.

Get registered your marriage (even if performed under Hindu Marriage Act) before the Marriage Registrar (usually Sub Registrar of Assurances) of your Tehsil/Taluq with PP size photos of both and 3 witnesses.
