I have had a sore throat for 2 days now & the remedy I was given soothes it, but I still have the soreness. I feel a lump about the middle of my neck on one side. Should I be concerned? Is there any other herbal alternatives I can use instead of the honey cayenne & garlic?

Ok I woke up this morning and The pain is almost gone. Only when I do the massage therapy on the neck does it hurt. I am not having troubles swallowing. I am however having a difficult time moving my head. My husband has looked down the back of my throat & didn't find any irritation. The lump is going down possibly due to the massage therapy.

most likely, you have a viral illness. the lump is caused by a swollen lymph gland which fights infections. the pain in your throat could be caused by the gland or post nasal drip (snot dripping down the back of your throat).
treat with Advil or Tylenol, drink lots of fluids, try an antihistamine w/decongestant, and get some rest. viruses usually last 3-21 days. wash your hands more frequently.

go to the doctor. strep throat has been going around. you need to be examined by a professional for a diagnosis before you try to self-treat.
