Canadian bacon and ham are almost synonomous with each other. Can. bacon is essentially cut from the same area of the pig (as far as I know) and is usually round in shape while bacon is long and cut into thin long strips. Canadian bacon is supposedly thicker and it's proven to be more ham-like in overall taste and consistency while standard bacon, being thinner and more fatty, is usually pan-fried and crispy. Depending on where you go, sometimes they use bacon on Hawaiian pizzas.

Canadian Bacon is very similar to ham. Not really like bacon at all. Its really good!
