powerful rational being?not really,it is the opposite,they are so dependent , selfish and murderer,a lion,though firce and powerful, when is fed,will not harm even the smallest aminal but man will kill anything even for joy,many spieces of aminals knows how to take care of their aged parents,most parents of man now ends up in old folks home, a baby goat kneels to drink milk,morden man looks for changes to sue their parents,man is superior and powerful?look around and think again.

According to Douglas Adams, mice are the most intelligent species, but not very powerful, I'd say. Second best species are the Dolphins, and human beings are only the 3rd, but possibly most powerful.
More seriously, I think you need to deifne rational. Do you mean able to think and interact with the environment? Or just intelligent? Because big apes are very intelligent (especially the Orang Utan) but I would not say rational...

That is a very arrogant statement. Humans change and ruin the environment around them to survive, then form committees to study how to fix it. My cat just goes with the flow. We certainly aren't powerful by biological standard, we are little more than slow naked pink dinner without our societies and our weaponry.
