I don't normally insult people for no reason. But if I feel there is a good reason to put them in their place, I will completely ignore them as though I do not know them and they never existed. Even if someone asks, how is so and so, and I will just reply, I don't know that person.

I look at then when they are speaking like what they are saying is really important to me & when they finish I just turn away & start speaking about anything else immediately to show how disinterested in them & their opinions I really am.
Works every time. The face falls & they look totally devastated by the idea that someone is not interested in them.
