My Pentium III PC with Windows XP cannot startup properly. It shows "Attention: Entering Sleeping more" once the windows startup screen disappeared and rebooted itself. This happened even when I start with safe mode, or any other mode. No recent change to programs, except that a few week back, replace the LCD monitor to a Phillips 190S.

Please help.

Thanks for all the quick responses. The problem is it does not even go to the Windows screen. Immediately after the starting windows bar run completed, a black blank screen will appear and the msg"Attn: Entering sleeping mode" appeared. No chance to do anything! I put the Windows XP cd in and reboot, it does not get a chance to run.

you need to go into your BIOS setup and set your first boot device to CD, so that you can get to the repair console on the Windows XP CD,

First step is to go to Power Management & set everything, Hibernate, Turn off, Screen Saver etc, to Never.
If it doesn't stay on long enough for you to do this, try repairing from your XP disk.
I doubt if your monitor change caused this.

Right click on desktop, go to Properties. Then to Screen Saver, then Power Management. There, set your computer to never sleep.

set it on fire in your neighbor's yard and run like hell. let him try to figure out why his yard is on fire. then go get a new one, it's toast.
