Everyone tells me about the crazy **** that goes on down there but i went down there and there was nothing but dudes drinking and having siesta. where is the right place to go for crazy stuff?

I didn't see any of those stereotypes that you are talking about. in Mexico I saw a lot of people working hard and taking pride in their work. Nobody was sleeping, and very few people were sloshed. This work ethic seems to be disappearing in the country directly north of it.
If you're a foreigner getting in trouble in Mexico, you'll be up a creek without a paddle. The US embassy won't bail you out. You'll be under Mexico's laws, guilty until proved innocent. You'll have no rights. Oh, and the jails aren't the posh luxuries you find in the States. No cable TV or internet. Someone from your family will have to supply you with food and toiletries.

Where there is crazy stuff going on in Mexico you will want to stay away from it. Serious jail time for drugs. Just drink and have a siesta.

Mexico is a place to go for peace and quiet, beauty, historical or architectural interest, great food, etc., but not for crazy stuff. Visitors to Mexico should respect Mexican culture and not try to transplant the worst of our culture.

Hey man........I live in Mexico, but am from Chicago. Sounds like you want to go Amsterdam. Smoke dope all day there. Screw around here and end up in jail. Really. Stay home.
