I have to do this all the time, most people tell me that if I can try to atleast get a little sleep, even if it is only an hour or even less. However I have found that this just does not work fo rme. If I go to sleep after not sleeping then I crash I am out and I will not wake up in an hour. Do if I only have an hour to sleep I just stay awake and do what the other person said, jsut get through the day then catch up on the sleep later. I keep one of those gel eye mask in my refrigerator and I keep in on my eyes for as long as I can before I have to go to work, hopefully an hour. Many people will caution you against a QUICK PICK MEUP LIKE A CANDY BAR OR ANYTHING ELSE WITH REFINED SUGAR B/C YOU WILL GET THE INSTANT ENERGY BUT IT WILL THEN CAUSE SUCH A DRASTIC SURGE IN YOUR INSULIN LEVELS YOU WILL HAVE LESS ENERGY AND CRASH I however can really use that initial pick me up so in the morning when i have not had sleep i have something with sugar, lots of strong coffee. Throughout the day keep moving, keep the blood flowing, it is best if you have something to do that gets your adrenalin up, you know how people manage to goe days without sleep when someone they love is in the hospital or they are getting married etc. Also throughout the day sustain your nutrition with lots and lots and lots of water, this helps with dehydration and makes your skin look better. Drin red bull & eat penut butter and crackers during the day. Get up and take walks around the building or wherever you are as often as you can
Do take a cold shower in the morning, but I start with a hot shower so I actually feel bettter, then at the end I force myself to suffer through a long shot of ice cold water. Splash ice cold water on your face a frew times before you put on your make up. If you cannot get one of those gel eye pads put a fe wet wash cloths is the freezer now so threy will be ice cold when you are ready to dressed for work, keep them on your eyes for at least an hour before putting on your make up. use a good concealer under your eyes. Take your make up with you to work so you can do several touch ups during the day, but instead of just adding makeup each time, actually splash ice cold water on your face and reapply your eye make up.
I don't know how you feel about stimulants, i have adhd, and i take adderal daily, for me it is not a stimulant, but i often have frends ask me for one so they can make it through the day. Would you consider taking an otc stimulant, such a dexatrim or some other drug store diet pill, i amsure it will give you energy.
You can get through it with lots of water, red bull fruit make up cold water on your face and brisk walks, just get though it (and in my opinion avoid the 15 min catnap if you can, to me they only maake you more tired (unless you are a dr. nurse or shift worker and this is your lifestyle, then it is necessary to get sleep whenever and wherever you can, but if this is a rare and isolated occurance skip the cat naps and do everything you can to stay awake & just get through it. Try to avoid contact with your boss if at all possible and put off any life altering or serious decision that you have to make untill you have had some sleep if possible. More accidents and mistakes in the workplace and in cars occur from sleep deprivation than form anything else.
Good luck don't forget the ice cold rags, go put them in th efreezer now, put 6 or 7 in so as each one loses its chill you can replace it on oyur eyes with a fres ice cold one

Take a fresh shower, wash you face with cold water ... put on a little bit of make up, eat something before you go !
In my experience, the eyes are a problem... stop at a drug store or pharmacy, there are eye drops which make the eyes white and clear and they do not have that tiering itch.

You can drink some coffee. That wakes me up in the morning,
If I need to stay up all night long, I drink 3 cups of hot tea with a little sugar and fresh lemon or 2 big glasses of ice tea.
That does it for me along with chewing chipped ice and snacking on chewy snacks. I like Cheetos.
Have you ever noticed that it wakes you up when you are chewing? I do this when I have to drive and get sleepy along with listening to music.

Eat lots of fruit, a cup of coffee & a snickers. If you can, sleep for only 15 minutes when you absolutly have to. I've done this lots of times. the only bad thing is that you might have to take a couple of craps during your shift. Good luck & God speed, it's going to be long.

just kidding ... frisky cold shower, hemorrhoid cream under the eyes, visine for the eyes, fresh cup of joe - and something with protein for energy like eggs or if you don't have time, get a few hand fulls of cashews. Good luck.

if ur a girl wear make up, drink stronger tea or black coffe. It works. That's what I do when I only had few hrs of sleep.

eat something with sugar in it, drink lots of water, and dont make yourself go hungry. wash you face with freezing cold water, and take a cold shower.
try to keep your blood moving, stretch yourself out every cpl minutes.
