When you know that there's a billion possible correct answers, like "What is your favorite artist?", or when you require a ton of things, like "What are 27 good party songs?" Sometimes these come together, as in "What are your 40 favorite movies?"

Whenever people give you stupid/lame answers (such as this one).
Serious answer:
I don't really think that any questions can be considered "lame". I think people only think that the questions are lame because they doubt themselves and feel kind of foolish for asking a question that people might already know the answers to.

Everyone's view of "lame" differs, so lame to me may not be lame to you and vice versa.
