Your question is not detailed enough for someone to give you a fair response. Without knowing more about the situation any answer given would be somewhat one sided. For example, has the 18 yr old in question been given a certain amount of time to secure other living arrangements? Does the 18 yr old have a steady source of income?
Most parents want their children to succeed. Maybe they feel you will not effectively gain the skills needed in becoming the responsible adult they want you to be if you are allowed to stay in your comfort zone.
Are the parents offering to help the 18 yr old financially if needed or on a regular basis?
Most cities have a job location assistance program for young adults. Check your local library for any programs available in your community which may offer help with resumes or in identifying problem areas or teaching critical interview skills you may need.
Good Luck.

In the wild, they do it all the time: A mother tiger will kill it's young if it tries to hang around after 3 years. Birds LITERALLY make their little ones "leave the nest" (that's where that expression comes from) after a few months.

At least WE let y'all stay for 18 years! Now GET TO STEPPING!

I think it depends, my son will have to move out when he's done with high school unless he's either working full time or going to college. If he's just a lazy bum hanging around the house not doing anything to better himself or prepare for the future...than yeah he's outta here!

that depends. if the kid performed well in school and never caused the parents any problems , then it is a little premature to kick them out. On the other hand, if the kid dropped out of school, developed a drug habit, and contracted a variety of STDs during his tenure in the home, then it is understandable.
