1-2 drinks on the weekend? Go for it.
"The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recently conducted a large study including 400,000 American women, all of whom had consumed alcohol during pregnancy. Not a single case of fetal alcohol syndrome occurred and no adverse effects on children were found when consumption was under 8.5 drinks per week. 3
A recent review of research studies found that fetal alcohol syndrome only occurs among alcoholics. The evidence is clear that there is no apparent risk to a child when the pregnant woman consumes no more than one drink per day."

And, more relevant to your situation:
"Women who have a glass of wine in the evening are more likely to become pregnant quickly, it was claimed today.
A major new study suggests that women who have a moderate amount of red or white wine stand a better chance of becoming pregnant within two months than those who prefer beer and spirits, or do not drink at all.
But fertility experts warn that drinking more than two glasses a day could have the opposite effect."

If you're trying to conceive than your best bet is to just not drink for a while. Because you never know if you might actually be pregnant already. Since alcohol does effect pregnancy the worst in the early stages of development right now would not be the time to drink.

It is advised that you do not drink while trying to conceive because if you are pregnant it may harm the baby (even if it is only a couple weeks into pregnancy, which means that you may not have found out yet). This website answers it very detailed I think.
Can I drink alcohol while trying to conceive?
"Heavy drinking has been associated with impaired fertility and is definitely not recommended when pregnant so should be avoided when trying to conceive. Studies on fertility and moderate alcohol consumption are not conclusive, with some showing adverse affects and others showing little or no impact. Our recommendation when trying to conceive is to treat your body as if you were pregnant, since you could be pregnant at any time. "
Hope this helps!

I did not find out I was pregnant until I was 7 weeks pregnant... which means that I had 7 Friday nights out with the girls drinking before I knew. I was very concerned when I found out and addressed this with my OB. She said that I shouldn't worry because this is a very common circumstance and it will not have any affect on the child as long as I do not drink anymore (which of course I haven't) I am 4 months pregnant now and my unborn baby is as healthy as they get. He is active and is growing right on track.
If you think you might be pregnant now, you should not drink at all. Period. You need to stay on the safe side. A drink is not worth the well being of your child.

Usually when people are trying to conceive they take better care of themselves.
If you're trying to have a baby don't even think about drinking. Any type of alcohol, drugs, smoking can affect the pregnancy at any stage.

Don't do this! I hope you never know the pain of looking at you baby knowing you injured your child by doing something as meaningless as drinking. If the guilt wouldn't drive you insane you have no soul. Please do not do this! Bring your baby into this world in an honorable way and not some drunken sordid sleazy way. Be a good person and do the right thing. God bless you.

If you even suspect that you may be pregnant you must avoid alcohol. You must give your child the very best start & if that means sacrificing alcohol intake for a few months then I don't think it is too much to ask.
