What's better? The original 3 (Starwars, Empire strikes back, Return of the Jedi) or the more recent trilogy (Episodes 1 -3)?

The Original...of course!!
the new ones special effects are just too 'nice & smooth' coz they use computer graphics whereas the original ones used the small scale models to create those effects...simply excellent!!
And of course....Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher & Harrison Ford.

The original 3 Star Wars movies were definitely the best (although some movie buffs felt the 2ND in the series "The Empire Strikes Back"was weaker than 1 and 3) .George Lucas was more interested in making millions of dollars than making the next 3 movies as good as the first. The technology was now available to saturate the movies with too many special in nearly every scene. The story line was weak .The first in the new trilogy was about what happened before Star Wars4.It had too many effects. Bad continuity ?

I would have to go with the new trilogy b/c it contains the Revenge of the Sith which just made everything come together I loved the transformation of Anakin to Vader and the dark themes it contained (This was a hard choice b/c it also contains the worst of the six movies---The Phantom Menace w/ Jar Jar Binks)

Personally I prefer the newer trilogy. But I also love the original.

The original trilogy is 10000000 times better than the newer trilogy.

I like the original 3. The characters were not as stiff as the actors were often drunk (especially in Empire Strikes Back).
