Its the idea that anybody can get rich if they work hard enough and have the ability. Its often under attack from big government politicians.

The American dream, by definition, is the belief that people immigrate to America to give themselves a chance to become successful (get an equal opportunity's as everyone else), all while maintaining their core beliefs at the same time.
