It would seem to me, that your party has very much left you. I know Bush's administration no longer fits the definition. He must be an independant?

Thank you! Ronald Reagan famously said, "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me." Well, today this statement is true of Republicans. They talk all day long about conservative principles and smaller government. I would think after 12 years in Congress with two complicit Presidents they would have been able to accomplish that. They deserve to lose it all.

I can't understand why Republicans don't wake-up to the fact that they have been cheated.

Bush is a Neo-Con. They took over the GOP sometime during the 80s from Reagan and the others. They were originally a group of Democrats that supported LBJ, who was tossed from the party by the anti-war movement of the 60s. Bush has been the biggest money waster since LBJ, which is fitting, since it exposes the Neo-Cons.

Presidential Candidate Ron Paul told an audience at CPAC recently that the Republicans have been governing like Democrats. He intends to follow through with Reagan's failed campaign promise to abolish the Department of Education (suggest that in a Public School in front of the student body and you'll get the support of about 90% of them, though the teachers wouldn't be too supportive) and to do in big government, if he can get elected that is.

That is the neo-conservative Republican you are referring too.

There is an old joke that in a way applies here.

Two bulls standing on a rise overlooking a herd of cows.
The young bull (neo-conservative) says to the old bull (ye olde conservative) , lets run down there and take one of them cows.
The old bull asks in reply, why don't we walk down there and take them all?

Republican means small government lead by group of elected officials. Democratic means every one gets a vote.
