philly is just doing the typical philly crap that they always do. Trade away great players to teams that eventually go on to win championships. i.e. curt shilling, rod brind'amour etc.

The Eagles are not going to spend so much money on someone who has not lived up to the potential that was expected of them since they came into the league. When Sallworth was drafted by the Saints, he was supposed to be the future for them. He was going to solidify the receiver position so they could concentrate on other positions. Instead, he churned out 1 good season and then followed up with a couple of average seasons. He was also a problem in the locker room and the community. The Eagles traded for him because they knew that they needed help at the receiver position and the draft was already over. They could also let him go after the season and save cap space. In the draft they will address their receiver position with someone with more potential and less baggage. Besides, Stallworth was not even good for the whole season. Sure he started off like an All-Pro at the beginning of the season, then he tapered off. Why would you jeopardize cap flexibility and team chemistry for someone who seems to only play less than half the time.

I am a life-long Saints fan but I enjoy watching the NFC South and think that is has the potential to be the toughest divsion,(with the Saints leading the way of course). Stallworth is yes a deep threat but he will never be able to carry a team. He drops too many passes and isnt a threat going across the field. With Mcnabb being injury prone he will not sit in the pocket longer than three seconds to throw the deep pass as often as he should. Your best bet is to get a big receiver who can make the catch in traffic and can take a Roy Williams type hit running across the field. Good Luck, Black and Gold!!!

Age, Money, Off field problems. I also agree with the above answer that even if they do sign him, the Eagles are most likely out in the playoffs...or they will lose to the Chargers in the Super Bowl.

First of all he is one drug test away from a ban second of all he wants too much money and third with or without him the eagles arent getting a ring any time in the near future,AFC is the dominant league and doesnt show signs of ending that trend.
