Depends on who you are asking! He was in charge of an army that killed lots of people. And any serial killer would have gotten the same treatment, depending on what state you live in. I would have expected the same for George Bush if he were captured by Saddam. So this question can only truly be answered by yourself. Do you think it was fair?

For a person who had commited so many people's lives to sadness, torture and death, I really do not think killing him so expeditely allows him to realize what suffering is. In my opinion, bringing him down to the level of the ordinary people he tormented and reduced to mere existence would be more appropriate. Like putting him and his dependent family in a two-bedroom house and provide him with the strict earnings of the ordinary street guy and making sure he lives, would be better punishment and a chance for realization for him. I kind of feel he died believing he was punished unduly.

It was in his country. It was trial by a jury of his peers so by our standards yes. So ya, I guess so. But if he had been tried in America, he might not have gotten death. The one part I will disagree with is that when he got the sentence he requested a firing squad, the death of a soldier, which I thought he should have been granted.

yes it was fair, but we should have kept him around, at least he kept Iraq together. Yes through murder and fear, but it seems that all they understand in that part of the world.
then we could've taken care of the real problem, Iran.

if we are talking about compared to what he did ...then its more than fair...but the way he was killed and the way his country was invaded and all this humiliation then no that wasn't fair ...the guy wasn't good but what happened shocked me ... the trial wasnt over yet!!!

I'm guessing not. But what do I know. I don't know all the fact. I'm not his judge?

But I'm guessing a lot of people on yahoo answers think they can be.

Yes, but by rushing it and not conducting in with some dignity they made it lose some of its power and turned him into a somewhat sympathetic person.

If I was an "eye-for-an-eye" person I would say gas him like he did the Kurds. But I'm not so shooting or hanging was just.

Yeah,
eye for an eye as he caused many deaths and suffering.
so technically he should've suffered and died the lives of many.
