Was at an observatory for project, then while we were outside the professor was pointing out the nebulas with a high powered pointer* and while he was talking he accidentally hit the button and got me right in the eye.

He discussed how it was one that he had to lock up when he was done or whatever so it wasnt your standard type. So does it hurting mean i should be worried? because i assumed it was just temporary but it hasnt releived since it happened

If a light source is powerful enough, it may cause damage to your lens. Laser pointers have been documented to cause permanent eye disability. Hopefully, yours is not the case. Relax for now. Seek help from an opthalmologist if the pain persists. It may be something serious.

Better see an eye doctor ASAP. Laser pointers come with a warning NOT to aim directly into the eye.
