I'm looking for a present for a friend's baby. The parents are very musically inclined so I'm wondering what would be a good gift (other than a CD) for a new baby to get (him) started on the same track.

Baby Einstein's makes an infant car seat/carrier musical bar that has fish and such in side the slider water bar, and little beads and fish that the baby can reach out for. I got it for my daughter to keep her entertained while waiting for daddy to get off the plane/ the ride to and from going to get him, while waiting at the doctors office, and going to the store and such activities like that. I love it, and hope that my daughter will too.

They make a lot of toys that play classical music, I would opt for a mobile or crib toy that plays classical music when the baby cries or kicks. It teaches cause and effect as well as building the brain by playing those beautiful melodies. They may need a CD player for the baby's room, that would be helpful, along with a Baby Einstein CD.
