It has been this way for a couple of days, no discharge, just tender and swollen and the nipple is not caving in either.

Your horomones are just thrown off right now....that could be due to your menstral cycle or pregnancy. Perhaps your on some sort of medication that also could throw off your hormones? Have you just had a child withen the last year? that could also be the reason. If none of these are at all possible for you definatly go see your doc!!! I wish you all the best!
